On wheels

Some time ago Kristjan and I made a investment in three Montana bookcases on wheels. The reason for the wheels is that no wall in the entire apartment is strong enough to hold a ordinary bookcase pluss the wheels look quite funky

Kubus anno 2010

The people behind Kubus candle holder have widened the Kubus family with a different take on the candle holder and a Kubus bowl. I don´t know if I´m loving the bowl, have yet seen it live, but the candle holder is cute.

bright & white

My colleagues gave me gift vouchers from Magasin both as a wedding gift and later for my round birthday. I decided to put the gift vouchers to good use and buy a larger version of the Caravaggio.
Then on thursday we got our Loop table from Hay...and voilá! a new bright & white space.

New blue lines

Two new neat and nifty product lines form Normann Copenhagen. Mormor (grandmother) and blueclay (designed by the fabulous Claydies).

I attended a Tupperware party the other day and wanted to buy the classic big bowl perfect for making bread and buns with. Good thing I didn´t cause I´m so planning on buying that blue ceramic bowl – heart it!

Ha ha ha ha

Humor is an important factor for me when it comes to decorating our apartment. I don´t want the impression of our place to be a serious and formal one. However I feel like our place could do with some more drastic splurges of humor like these rather dull chairs designed by Erik Magnussen with rather funny illustrations by HuskMitNavn a Copenhagen based street (well not so much anymore) artist.

Drip Away

WAUW DESIGNs vases had an wauw effect on me at this years annual Crafts Market at Vor Frue Plads in Copenhagen. The way the cool pastel colors intertwine, drip and fade into each other. They make me think of candy and 70´s German ceramics - good combo!

My appreciation

I´ve had the pleasure to see three plays at the new theater in Copenhagen. In the evening light the house looks just diving. The light installation around the dock is breathtaking to put it mildly. The Architects use typography both on the out- and inside of the building in a bold manor which I appreciate.

Thermo Pava

"Poul Pava is a Danish artist who, in a naive and spontaneous way, has specialized in painting and drawing the child in us all." Aida a Danish porcelain and cutlery maker have made a thermo cup in collaboration with Poul Pavo to sell in retail shops. Think their adorable and would be a perfect christmas present for my cousin Katrin.

My cousin Marjun and I were discussing the Danish brand House Doctors the other day. Marjun was impressed by there style and the online catalog, and after clicking through the two online catalogs I completely agree with Marjun. My favorite product are the patchwork paper plates. What is your pick?

Ordrupgaard Museum & Finn Juhls home

Kristjan and I had a lovely day yesterday. We finally made it to Finn Juhls home, that now is a part of Ordrupgaards museum. Unfortunately you can´t take pictures inside the home do to security reasons. Saha Hadid has designed the relatively new extension of the museum which is gorgeous. Finn Juhls multicolor Pelikan Chairs looked great up against the raw look of the cement walls and the minimalist lighting.

Two a day keeps mothers away

My mother is very worried that I´m going bald. So she ordered me to take iron everyday. My mother soon to be in law bought me vitamins on her last visit. Don´t know why... maybe I was to pale or something, anyways I take vitamins and iron every day (a bit to keep them away ;o) They stand on the kitchen counter and their not that nice to look at, so I decided to do something about the package design. Enter my FLOWmarked bottles....Much better.

momentary insanity

I don´t know what got in to me, but I spontaneously bought a purple DOT pillow from Wendtdesign for a lot of money the other day. I´ve wanted and wished for the pillow for easily two years, but still I had not planned to go to Gammel Kongevej and buy the most gorgeous pillow ever. I´m happy...but I can´t help having a guilty conscience.

Shake your pestle

Here is yet another post from the anual Crafts Market in Copenhagen. Just have to show you the work of Lise Damsager Hansen. Her ceramic kitchen utensils are so simple, graphic and organic. To me her work is reminiscent of the Shaker style. Lovely!

You Little Teapot

The one thing at the Crafts Market that really made me think was/is the ”You Little Teapot” project, which is a collaboration between ceramic artist Lars Christian Rank and writer/artist Tomas Lagermand Lundme. The project has an agenda where a simple view of the world gives life to textual statements about sexuality, politics and daily life. Lundmes figurative drawings of faces, figures and sentences gives the ceramic a story telling dimension with an ambiguity, moral and political stand. In that way two different modes of expression glide together and give one another meaning.

and there was light

Renaissance is what I think is happening at Holmegaard. Lately the product list has been growing and one of the latest product is the gorgeous bold glass lamps with a great big black shade. Above are my three favorite lamps and I´d love to have Steam (the one with turquoise wire) by Rikke Hagen standing on my credenza.
