Grannys datebread

The hole family has been more or less sick so fare this december. I have managed to semi decorate the apartment and do some backing. I always bake date bread at christmastime. The recipe is an old one from my grandmother.

Ingredients (1 bread):
2 eggs
200 grams brown sugar
500 grams flour
1 spoon (generous) backing powder
400 grams dates (cut into half)
1 teacup boiling water

How to:
Take out the stones and cut the dates in half. Pour a teacup of boiling water over the dates and set aside (this makes for a moist bread). Beat eggs and sugar until sugar is dissolved. Add the flour and baking powder and mix well. Last but not least add the now moist dates to the batter and bake at 180 degrees celsius for a good hour. Bon apetit

Santa Claus were a handmade gift from my nephew, Hákun. The gold snowflake a gift from Kristjan many years ago. The mushroom I bought on our romantic getaway in Berlin and I could go on and on and on and on....

One lonely forgotten ornament
It accrued to me yesterday, that I´ve forgotten to take down our christmas-ornament-clockwork-thing......or maybe it will hand there until next christmas? My new shopping-bag in organic cotton by H&M has the reasonable size and the handle is large enough to put over my shoulder - perfect for small grocery shopping.
