A rare blog

I´ve been thinking about how many strange blogs there are out in our blogosphere. Think it´s marvelous that people can find a subject like red heads so interesting that there must be made a blog all about redheads. Don´t get me wrong, I love red heads (Kristjan is indeed a read head). Check out the red blog here: A rare breed

Tribute to Marimekko

My mother bought this Marimekko dress at H&M this weekend. I do like the Joonas pattern, but not lovin´ the dress itself. Think my moms plan is to make a skrit and a halterneck top for my sister Tóra out of the dress/fabrique.

In the name of recykling 3

It has been amazing to get so much response on the Stendig lampshade from the great blogsphere. I have been experimenting with the Stendig calendar since the lamp shape project, and out of all my experiments I like my new bed headboard the most. I simply stapled two black stendig sheets on to the wall. There actually is a black painted headboard already there from way back in 2004, so it was high time for me to do something new.

Graphico Mexico

Graphico Mexico

I worked as a waiter at the Danish House of Sport way back, there they had all the Olympic posters hanging on the wall around the gigantic house I remember that Mexico68 hanged in the Handball section. Mexico68 is my favorite olympic poster by fare. The black and white geometric pattern is mesmerizing and not to forget hypnotizing. Lance Wyman designed the type especially for the olympic games plus logo. The poster was made as a collaboration of three artists: Pedro Ramirez Vazquez, architect and President of the Organizing Committee for the Games, Eduardo Terrazas (MEX) and Lance Wyman (USA).

The good old days or just old days

Came across a faroese site about a village that was. I just wanted to share these two pictures. The first image depicts a mother with her children. I imagine that the father is out fishing and that the youngest hardly knows his father. The men would be out fishing for six months or more back than. (notice the hanging dry fish) The second image shows some of the villagers arriving in boat, how the women kept so clean is a mystery to me.

Missing my photo camera

Kristjan took my camera with him to Canada, so I haven´t taken a picture for a week now. Kinda missing it, especially when I was at the new theater in Copenhagen this Tuesday. I must go back with my camera and try to recap the experience inorder to share it with you. I would describe my experience at the theater as a beautiful one (thanx Annika). Untill then I´ll leave you with my yellow kitchenware collection and a picture from the theater

Fabolous bottle

Was out at a bar last night and saw the most fabolous bottle. U’Luvka is not a new arrival. This is a vodka which has roots going back to the alchemists of the 17th century Polish Royal Court. This exceptional quality vodka is destilled three times - and it´s therefor said that when drinking U´Luvka you won´t get a hangover. Care to try?

It´s alive and working

Believe it or not I somehow fixed my Olympia "de Luxe" type writer and I´m lovin it! It´s unbelievable gratifying to hit the keys, start a new line, the ring sound when ending a line, pulling a page out, setting a blank page in, ohh and then there´s the sound factor...what is it with the typing sound that is so hypnotic?

Royal cookie jar and Traveller De Luxe.

It´s been ages since I last visited my favorite second hand shop located in Glostrup. I spent 1/2 a hour and about 10 £ on a Olympia Traveller De Luxe typewriter, a teak pepper grinder, a Kron Jyden butter container and a Royal Cph cookie jar plus a "parsley knife". I especially like the cookie jar with the blue geometric print, think I´ll keep an open eye for more royal cookie jars.

Serve with lime wedges and guacamole. 400g potatoes (cooled and mashed) 200g white fish 3-4 spring onions chili big bunch coriander (cilantro)
