The charcoal branch, absorbs unwanted particles like bacteria and smells from the water and instead, release natural minerals. After about 3 months Sort of Coal recommend changing the branch, but you might be able to reactivate it a few times by boiling and drying it. Sort of Coal have other products such as Hakutan Sculpture which are sculpture for interior decoration that purify the air.
