In the name of recycling I give you the most magnificent glass-glasses-chandelier.  The chandelier is made out of recycled eyeglasses and is created by Stuart Haygarth for the “Second Lives: Remixing the Ordinary” exhibition at the new Museum of Arts and Design. vie The New York Times

Small and great

I bought a wood puzzle by Iittala, when I was in Helsinki some time ago. It´s quite the little smart gadget, that you place between your pot and lid to release steam. Works like a charm.

Magasins chocolate is on sale now a days. Do like he way chocolate is decorated now a days

Life is just like a box of puzzles

Wiinblad made these puzzles in 1970s. The puzzles depict the four seasons. I have winter and spring. Would like to have summer and autumn as well. Need to keep my eyes open. Think they are sweet, fun and oh so pretty!

Smiling in a War Zone

"One day in January 2002, Simone Aaberg Kærn was sitting in her usual café in Christianshavn, she read an article about a girl in Afghanistan who wanted to become a fighter pilot so she could strike back at the Taliban. "All at once, several threads came together at a single point. I immediately knew this was my project. I wanted to go to Kabul and take this girl flying."

"Smiling in a War Zone – is a modern fairytale about Aaberg Kærn's stubborn struggle to build an air bridge across two continents. We follow her persistent negotiations with air traffic controllers and generals about airspace access, and we are with her in the cockpit when she finally takes off for Kabul, despite a definite no-go from the American Air Force. All this to give a girl in Kabul a chance to fly."

Ordrupgaard Museum & Finn Juhls home

Kristjan and I had a lovely day yesterday. We finally made it to Finn Juhls home, that now is a part of Ordrupgaards museum. Unfortunately you can´t take pictures inside the home do to security reasons. Saha Hadid has designed the relatively new extension of the museum which is gorgeous. Finn Juhls multicolor Pelikan Chairs looked great up against the raw look of the cement walls and the minimalist lighting.

Dahlias de Luxe

I´ve decided that I want Dahlias in different colors for our wedding. I buy them all the time....they are so very beautiful. My Travller de Luxe is in use every now and then. I write notes for Kristjan that he doesn´t read and I ´we made a habit to write when going out and maybe a bit intoxicated.

5 Ingredients Lava Cake

We got a brand new oven today...happy baking days. Isn´t there some sort of good luck charm, if you bake something chocolate related the first time you use the oven? It´s knitting club time tonight and if it was my turn to have the girls over, I´d be making this easy peasy mouthwatering lava cakes.

Shopping in museums

I was surfing and stumbled upon Louisianas website. Museum shops are the best. The Louisiana shop is always packed with goods like these Swedish candleholder from Paradis Verkstan and rings made of horn by French Fuzion. Come to think of it...the candel holders would be great in my vintage mood board living room beneath

Get well soon

Last weekend I found out the terrible news about Stephanie Nielson and her husband Christian. My thoughts and payers go to the Nielson’s. Since 2005, Stephanie has welcomed us into her charming abode through the NieNie Dialogues. Far from being a product of creative editing, the Nielson’s don’t just shine through the selective lens of a blog. They are ingenuous examples of family devotion, eternal romance, and Christ centered faith.

Friday goodness

On monday we´ll get a new oven that works. This teal Le Cruset Tagine would be ideal for me to make rich and aromatic lamb or chicken tagines to put in our new oven and steam for hours and hours. Though I´ll probable end up buying a Moroccan imported on that´s less pricy and much more authentic.... but I still love the teal colored one.

Two a day keeps mothers away

My mother is very worried that I´m going bald. So she ordered me to take iron everyday. My mother soon to be in law bought me vitamins on her last visit. Don´t know why... maybe I was to pale or something, anyways I take vitamins and iron every day (a bit to keep them away ;o) They stand on the kitchen counter and their not that nice to look at, so I decided to do something about the package design. Enter my FLOWmarked bottles....Much better.

Coolest buss ever!

Look what I saw on my way home from work yesterday. A Scania 1957 in perfect concision. Steen Nilsson is the proud owner of the buss, he bought it in 1961 and you can hire him and his busses to drive you around. So cool!

Janus Kamban 95 years

The Faroese artist of them all, Janus Kamban, turns 95 years today. He is first and for most at sculpture, but I personally love his graphical work. He has made one of the most famous Faroese stamps ever (pic). My parents are lucky to have several of his lithographys and one fine bust. Many congratz from me!

Hit the base

My conscience status greatly approved when I came home last night. Seeing that I had bought my Dot pillow, Kristjan had taken the liberty to buy something he had wanted for very long time. He´d bought a bas guitar and a amplifier. So that make us even now :o)

momentary insanity

I don´t know what got in to me, but I spontaneously bought a purple DOT pillow from Wendtdesign for a lot of money the other day. I´ve wanted and wished for the pillow for easily two years, but still I had not planned to go to Gammel Kongevej and buy the most gorgeous pillow ever. I´m happy...but I can´t help having a guilty conscience.

a revolver and a german

When I saw the cover of "Revolver" by The Beatles yesterday I was sure, that it was some sort of anniversary album, because the graphical look of the cover is so now....well googled it and low and behold the cover was made in 1966 by German bassist, artist, and close friend of the Beatles Klaus Voormann. I´ve done some reaserach on Voormann and I´m loving his work specially his album covers.

Ethnic shopping

Kristjan and I returned to Denmark from Honduras with double the amount of luggage. For our apartment I bought some handmade wicker baskets and some woven textiles all in in bright colors and the odd hammock. I do adore bright and vibrant colors, but I just don´t think it fits in to the rest of our decor in our flat. Guess I have to slowly get used to the strong pallet compared to the light Scandinavian one.
